2018 Rocky Mountain Growler 50 Review
In this blog I'll be giving my thoughts ont he 2018 Rocky Mountain Growler. The Growler is a aggresive trail hardtail that can do whatever you want from hitting jumps, drops, berms, and anything else you could possibly imagine.
One of my favourite things about this bike is that it has 27.5 x 2.8 plus tires. This makes it extremely stable in most conditions and gives you the confidence to do way more things. The tires that came with the bike were nice fast rolling tires, but I swapped them out for some nobbier tubeless tires so that i could really maximise my grip for when I'm railing turns and pushing hard uphill.
Some people might think that the bike being a hardtail makes it not as good, but I couldn't agree less. Personnaly, I find the fact that it's a hardtail makes it way more fun in many different ways like how you can really feel the trail and can pump rolls more effectivly. I think people who don't like hardtails are just little babies who don't actually know how to ride a bike.
The one thing I didn't like about this bike was the lack of a dropper seat post when I first bought it, but that isnt to be expected on a well specced machine that only costs 2,249$. Luckily though, it is dropper compatible so I spent some extra cash to get myself a Oneup dropper and now I couldn't be happier
Overall, the Rocky Mountain Growler 50 is an incredible bike for riders of all abilitys that can really handle anything you throw at it. The only downside was needing to buy a dropper separately, but like I said it wasnt too big of a deal. I give this bike a 9.8/10.
